I have been in the financial industry since 1987. In the muni bond world I traded, underwrote new issues and participated in investment banking and loved every minute of it. I was the Head National Underwriter bidding on national syndicates underwriting hundred’s of millions of debt for municipalities across the country with three phones at a time and 20 salespeople trying to file their orders with me. I speak frequently to groups on day to day financial issues such as budgeting, stocks and college savings. I speak to large military groups teaching retirement, money management and empowering our servicemen and women to believe they can understand and manage their own finances. I hold a BA in Public Administration from Drake University, hold the professional designation of a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP) and am a member of the Financial Planners Association of Illinois.
I’m a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst®.
I have been navigating the financial markets since the late 1980s, delivering high-level insights and strategy to both retail and institutional clients across asset classes.. Having traded and invested through the 1987 stock market crash, the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis, the 2000 Tech Bubble, the 2008 Financial Crisis, COVID-19, and today’s AI boom, I bring decades of real-world experience to every client relationship.
Prior to my role at Fortune Financial Group, I served as Head of Factor and Core Product Strategy for a major asset manager, overseeing more than 90 ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds) and a handful of mutual funds representing approximately $800 billion in assets. Functioning as a client-facing portfolio manager, I spent my days explaining the stock selection process of ETF strategies, demystifying the risk and return profiles of ETF strategies, discussing the usage of ETFs in portfolio construction, and researching opportunities in the equity market. I educated and interacted with financial advisors and institutional decision makers daily and my knowledge led to almost weekly engagement with the financial media. Today, my mission is to bring that same institutional-grade knowledge and disciplined framework directly to individuals to help them achieve their personal financial goals.
